I made a post a little while ago about being a half-way gamer. While I doubt that I will EVER play games as much as I used to when I was younger, I still do enjoy playing games. One of the games I started back playing right now, actually, is League of Legends. You probably heard about it, with all of it’s stats and hype and mainstream in the MOBA* world.**
Basically, a MOBA is pretty much a game that has a plethora of characters one can pick, most fulfilling one or more roles that need to be filled during a match. Typically, and for league’s sake, the roles are as thus:*** Top lane, which is usually a strong, but good defensive character who can go toe to toe with another top laner. Jungler, which is someone who fights neutral computer enemies that reside in the terrain outside of the lanes. Mid lane, which is usually a mage who is very squishy but has high damage potential. ADC, which is basically a character who is very weak until he purchases more items, and Support, which does exactly that. (I feel like I’m doing a terrible job of explaining, but I will continue for the sake of this post. )
The entire point of the game is for each team to advance down the lanes (there are three: Top, middle, and bottom), destroy all of the turrets, and destroy the enemy team’s base. That being said, there is a lot that goes on in between and a lot of terminology that I would have to explain. All I can tell you is that, once you get the hang of it, it is very fun.
Go ahead and look league up. I encourage you to sign up. I’ll even provide you with the sign-up link right now. http://signup.leagueoflegends.com/?ref=50273443a573c462647780
Sign-up, watch some videos, and become a part of the League of Legends community. Until tomorrow~
*MOBA = Multi Online Battle Arena
**I’ve never played DOTA or DOTA2. In fact, league of legends is the only MOBA I ever played.
***Decided to explain everything using mundane terminology, not gamer, lol.
